IDC connectors (Insulation Displacement Connection)
IDC connections do not require preliminary stripping of the wire. During crimping, the insulation is displaced and electrical contact is made directly on the conductor. This is a fast and economical method for ribbon cables and multi-wire harnesses.

IDC technology reduces the number of operations and cycle time by eliminating the stripping step.
